its about 30-40 dollars for every Guild Wars game combined, it will never become "truly" free to play, just get the monies and have a blast

it's not 100% free to play like runescape for example..but all you have to do is spend the $30-50 to play it and you don't have to pay another penny after.

Quit being cheap and just buy the game. You can buy the original for peanuts. It's well worth it!

With Guild Wars, there are no hidden "gotchas." Buy the 3 campaigns and the expansion and you really have everything you need to enjoy the game. And because you can get them retail, rather than from an exclusive developer shop, you can get them far below initial MSRP. The current Guild Wars model is far better than the other "free to play" games out there. |

Buying the game is totally worth it, you can find any of them pretty cheap on Amazon or just go to your local Game Stop, they have all three plus the expansion for $40 or so. Hope this helps.

I think that GW will never become 100% free to play, because that would attract a lot of bots and other cheaters... but on the bright side: GW does not have a monthly fee, so once you bought a campaign (or prefereably all 3 campaigns *and* the eye of the north expansion) you add those keys to your account and you can play whenever you want.

You're just playing the trial version.
Guild Wars is not free to play, it follows the standard procedure, buy the game and play as much as you want. |

I bought my second account from the OffGamers website - got the trilogy for $17 because all they sell is the keys, they don't ship you CDs/DVDs so you don't have to pay for all the marketing and packaging. if you look around, you can buy the trilogy for peanuts.
MOD EDIT: OffGamers DOES sell legit guild wars keys but it also sells gold and other items that are against the EULA. Only buy UN-USED, NEW copies of the game. Do not buy or sell gold, it will get you banned. You should also only buy from sites you trust. Last edited by Sierraa; Jan 03, 2012 at 01:16 AM // 01:16.. |
